Kayaking

I've been paddling for about 7-8 years, and paddle grade 3 rivers, with occasional lower grade 4's. Its taken a back seat to climbing over last couple of years due to a dearth of paddling partners, however over the last year, have met up with 2 or 3 new groups, and regularly paddle the River Washburn over the summer season. Its a dam fed river, and is a tiny stream when not in release, to see it build up see the gallery

Over winter I paddle a variety of rivers, normally the River Lune and the Wharfe near Grassington. Its a pity its so bloody cold over winter, but its the price you pay for the good water levels. Another river I love is the Tryweryn near Bala in Wales. A great river, lots of features, and one which has given me a good swim many a time.

I paddle a Pyranha Sub 7 (recently re-welded), dunno how much longer it will last, but will keep the old girl going as long as she will take it.
